In a recent case in Florida, a dog crossed a roadway to get a ride home from a friend.
The dog had been playing with a neighbor’s dog and her dogs when the dog jumped a curb and ran into the road, according to WFTV.
A passerby called the police.
The driver of the car called 911, and a dog walker and a pet owner came to help, WFTS reports.
The woman who was driving the vehicle called 911 to report the dog crossed the street.
She said that the dog was a 10-month-old pit bull mix, and that it was in a very bad condition.
She then told the driver that the pup had been hurt and that the animal was in distress.
The owner said that he didn’t want the dog to die, WJTV reports.
Police arrested the driver and charged him with endangering the welfare of a dog and pet.
A judge set bail at $15,000, WTS reports, but he’s being held in jail.
